Slocum Architects was founded in 1970 as Dick W. Slocum, Architect and incorporated in 1981 under its present name.

Since the late 1970's, Slocum Architects has maintained a focus on environmental awareness and energy conservation.

Slocum Architects is an award-winning architectural firm which maintains a highly experienced staff of LEED Accredited Architects and Designers.  Our staff of registered architects are educated and trained in all aspects of architecture, engineering, and planning.

Slocum Architects started out as the sole Architect for Fifth Third Bank Southwest, formerly Old Kent Bank, since 1970.  Over the years we have expanded our client base as well as Project types, including Friendship Village, Vista Grande Villa, Family Health Centers of Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, and Sherman Lake YMCA among others.  Our experienced project types encompasses senior facilities, health care, dental, camping and recreation facilities, industrial, municipal, religious, banks, credit unions, office, retail, manufacturing and housing.

The goal of Slocum Architects for the past 45 years has been to achieve quality projects.  The projects that Slocum Architects have designed fulfill both the functional and aesthetic needs a pleasant working and living environment requires.  We are particularly pleased with the fact that most of our work is with repeat customers.  We believe this reflects the quality of the services we provide and the type of working relationship that we develop with our clients.

Our projects represent a leading philosophy of our office in that the designs are completed within budget, meet the clients aesthetic and functional goals, and incorporate the latest in energy efficiency technologies.
